Hands down, the most irritating thing anyone can say to me is "but you don't look sick!" or "you look so good!". Hands. Down.
The stares I get at Walmart when I use their motorized cart or when I park in a handicap parking spot...they are murderous.
We need to slaughter the notion that if you cannot see physical signs of an illness, a person isn't sick. Drive that idea into the dust.
I have multiple organ issues. Four have shut down. Like don't work. But do I use a wheelchair (anymore, I did in my first years of my POTS diagnosis) or can? Do I walk around with dialysis? Nope. I look "fine" to the (quite frankly) blind eye.
